Portland General Electric Company (“PGE”) is committed to digital accessibility. Ensuring this website is navigable, actionable, and consumable by people with varying physical and cognitive impairments is important to us. As such, we’ve set forth a clear plan to not only achieve, but maintain digital accessibility conformance over time. As a part of this website’s development, we enlisted the services of ABILITY, an industry-leader in digital accessibility compliance. ABILITY consulted with our creative agency through the wireframing, design, and development of this website. Prior to the launch of this website, ABILITY thoroughly audited the website for digital accessibility compliance (as measured by WCAG 2.1, levels A and AA), and our development team remediated any issues related to WCAG. ABILITY’s auditing protocol included:
  • Screen-reader testing (NVDA)
  • Keyboard navigability testing
  • Mobile reflow testing
  • Technical auditing
  • Automated scanning with the A11y Toolbox software
